If you have an open heart and a conscious mind, then become a child sponsor today through foundations.(au). Simply send an email to sponsorship@foundationsau.org or fill out the application attached below.

our sponsorship program.
foundations.(au) is committed to creating a world where children are safe, healthy, loved and educated. One of the ways you can help us achieve this vision is to sponsor a child.  We offer a range of sponsorship programs, all of which directly impact and improve the lives of Ugandan children. The organisation is very active in the Kabale district of Uganda, having developed strong ties with the local community and several schools.

"Not only does sponsorship provide security for a child's education and future, but it sends them a very clear message; they are important.' Rosie O'Halloran, foundations.(au) founder.

In addition to quarterly correspondence regarding your child's progress, you can engage in regular contact with your sponsor child through foundations.(au). With a trip for friends of foundations.(au) planned for early 2013 you will also have the opportunity to meet your sponsor child and see first hand the difference you have made in their life! Every child in our program understands the importance of education and is empowered by the opportunity you have given them. They will be the champions for change in Uganda.

our first sponsored children.
The first group of foundations.(au) sponsor children were enrolled in February of 2010 in several schools across Kabale. The youngest started kindergarten while others were given the opportunity to complete their last years of high school. We are very proud to announce that two of first foundations.(au) sponsored children, Charity and Alfred, have just graduated from high school (November 2011)! Both see bright futures ahead, with Charity hoping to become a human rights lawyer and Alfred excited to develop a career in agriculture. According to savethechildren.org 66% of Ugandan children drop out of school during their primary and secondary school years. This is due to a number of factors, the most prominent being that they simply cannot afford to attend school. This makes the foundations.(au) child sponsorship program all the more important for the future of Uganda.

how to get involved.
There are two main ways to become a sponsor through foundations.(au).
- education sponsorship
- our place sponsorship

education sponsorship.
In conjunction with the Kabale District Education Office and the Child Welfare Office, foundations.(ug) staff identify children who require financial support to attend school.  Attending boarding school is common in Uganda, so an education sponsorship will cover their tuition, scholastic materials, uniforms and shoes. For those who board, it will also cover their boarding costs. For students coming from a rural village with no access to transport the education sponsorship will fund the cost of their transport to and from school.

The cost of an education sponsorship varies depending on the school, the year that the child is in and whether they are a day student or a boarder. Sponsorship of a day student in primary school starts from as little as $25AUD per month.

our place sponsorship.
One of foundations.(au)'s greatest achievements was the establishment of Our Place, a children's home in Kabale, South West Uganda in February 2010. An our place sponsorship can literally saves a child's life. Find out more about Our Place here.

Your sponsorship will cover:
- 24 hour care which is provided to the children by both male and female carers. Our Place also employs an off-site counsellor and holiday tutor.
- constant on site security which ensures the safety of children and staff at all times.
- The educational costs of the child, all medical care and the associated living costs such as food. All the children at 'our place' enjoy well balanced,
nutritious and delicious meals.

While there is a greater financial commitment for an our place sponsorship its not hard to see the significant contribution it makes in the life of an orphaned or vulnerable child in Uganda.

The table below is a break down of the figures for one child, for one year, at Our Place.

payment.
You can make your child sponsorship payments monthly, quarterly or yearly. To receive a tax receipt you will need to pay via cheque.
